Sarah Bruggeman
MVB, Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Sarah Bruggeman is known for her calm, intuitive approach with even the most spirited patients—earning her a reputation as a true “animal whisperer,” especially among exotic pets and strong-willed feline friends. She has been part of the Billings Animal Family Hospital family since 2001, beginning her journey in veterinary medicine as a receptionist before following her passion all the way to becoming a veterinarian.
A graduate of the University of Montana and University College Dublin in Ireland, Dr. Bruggeman returned to Billings in 2014 with a special interest in exotic animal care and feline medicine. She is especially passionate about creating low-stress, positive experiences for cats and providing thoughtful, individualized care for unique and non-traditional pets. Committed to continually growing in her field, she is an active member of the Feline Veterinary Medical Association, the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians, and the Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians.
Dr. Bruggeman is known for her upbeat, optimistic personality and genuine kindness. She brings a sense of ease and reassurance to each visit, helping both pets and their people feel comfortable and cared for. Her natural warmth and sense of humor often turn even stressful appointments into a more relaxed and positive experience.
Outside of the clinic, she enjoys traveling with her boyfriend and their two Dobermans, as well as spending time camping and hiking. At home, she loves baking both human and pet treats, gardening, and growing her own ingredients for homemade salsa. She also enjoys relaxing with her two cats and rewatching her favorite Disney films.
