Meet Our Staff
Billings Animal Family Hospital is a full-service veterinary medical facility, located in Billings, Montana. Formerly Heath Veterinary Hospital, the Center was recently remodeled in 2002 and in 2008 was purchased by Dr. Best.
Dr. Edie R Best, DVM, DABVP, cVMA
Dr. Edie Best received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Montana State University in 1990. In 1995, she graduated with honors from Colorado State University with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. She then became a board certified Diplomate in the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) in 2003 and re-certified in 2013. She is certified in Canine and Feline Practice. The ABVP represents a group of veterinarians who have demonstrated exceptional knowledge, skill and competency in the care of the "total patient". The rigorous certification process must be repeated every 10 years to maintain these high standards.
In 2017 Dr. Best completed over 60 hours of online training and 5 days of hands-on training to learn Veterinary Acupuncture. She is now a Certified Veterinary Medical Acupuncture practitioner.
Dr. Best's practice interests include canine reproduction, internal medicine, and cancer diagnosis and treatment. She is also an advocate for keeping pets pain and fear free. The entire hospital staff completed Fear Free training in 2016. Dr. Best attended an intensive 4-day Pain Management course in 2017.
Dr. Best purchased Billings Animal Family Hospital in 2008. Dr. Best is married and lives in the Huntley area. She and her husband have two dogs, five cats, three horses and a donkey! Outside of work she enjoys boating, hiking with the dogs, “glamping”, and spending quality time with good friends and family.
