Billings Animal Family Hospital Offers On-Site Veterinary Laboratory for Rapid & Accurate Results
At Billings Animal Family Hospital, basic laboratory testing is often performed prior to surgery, on a sick animal, and as part of your pet’s wellness examination. Our on-site veterinary laboratory provides convenient access to lab work and a high level of accuracy.
Because pets may suffer from diseases or conditions without obvious symptoms, we use laboratory tests to detect, diagnose, and treat a wide variety of serious illnesses. The most common tests include:
- Complete Blood Cell Count (CBC)—Provides vital information regarding conditions such as anemia or infections
- Blood Chemistry Profile—Evaluates blood sugar, electrolytes, protein levels, and organ function
- Urinalysis—Diagnoses urinary tract infections, diabetes, dehydration, kidney problems, and more
- Coagulation Panels—Detect any bleeding abnormalites before your pet undergoes surgery or if your pet is having unexplained bleeding problems
Laboratory testing is only performed with the consent of our pet owners. Our veterinary professionals always offer a complete explanation of the purpose of each test and an overview of all your diagnostic options.
